So it begins.

A wise(?) man once told me I should start a modelling diary in order to help me keep up with the countless projects that I seem to start with my wargaming hobby. I thought it was a pretty good idea, and this blog is my attempt to realise that goal.

The year 2010 has begun, as all years do, with the greatest of intentions of getting some of my favourite figures painted and on the gaming table. I have often been heard saying that I consider the 25mm & 28mm scales to be a royal pain in the proverbial, so this is a year to attempt to rectify that situation!

My first steps down this treacherous path is the construction of a basic outline of targets. Keep it simple. Keep it (nominally!) achievable. Ha! Here we go:

1. 500 points of Angmar troops for War of the Ring in 28mm [due 21st February, 2010]
2. 800 points of Teutonic Order for Field of Glory in 15mm [due 2nd May, 2010]
3. 1000 points of ECW Parliamentarians for Warhammer: English Civil War in 28mm [due August, 2010]
4. Several battlegroups of Muromachi Japanese for Field of Glory in 15mm [due 6th November, 2010]

Add to this some odds-and-sods of Things I'd Like To Paint! in order to keep me happy:

1. Continue painting 1,500 points of Dark Angels for Warhammer 40,000.
2. Start painting 1,500 points of Chaos Renegade Militia for Warhammer 40,000.
3. Start painting 1,200 points of Noldor Elves for War of the Ring.

This list was initially documented with the best of intentions on the 1st January, 2010, and already it has hit its first minor speed bump! I will refrain from naming names (curse you, von Lucky!), but I have since been introduced to yet another game system: The Uncharted Seas by Spartan Games. What this system really has going for it is some really nice looking fantasy ships in 1/600 scale, in a small enough quantity that painting them should be a breeze (where have I heard that before?!).

Therefor, add to the list:

1. 800 points of a Thaniras Elves fleet for The Uncharted Seas [due 21st February, 2010*]

* (assuming the wonders of online shopping and snail-mail can have said fleet delivered to my door in time!)
